An Event Photography and Video Release is the blanket authorization that event organizers obtain from attendees allowing the capture and use of photographs and videos taken at the event in promotional and marketing materials. Typically displayed on registration forms, event tickets, and at event entrances via signage. Unlike a model release (which covers professional photo shoots), this form covers incidental capture at events — conferences, concerts, sports events, fundraisers, and corporate gatherings. I, ______________, hereby grant ______________ (the "Organizer"), its sponsors, partners, and authorized representatives the irrevocable right and license to photograph, film, record, and use photographs, videos, and audio recordings in which I appear in connection with the ______________ (the "Event") for the following purposes: ______________.
The Organizer may use, reproduce, display, distribute, broadcast, and create derivative works from such photographs, videos, and recordings (collectively, the "Media") in any medium now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to: social media platforms, websites, newsletters, promotional materials, presentations, press releases, and advertising, without further compensation, notice, or approval from me.
I waive any right to inspect or approve the Media before it is used. I waive any right to compensation or royalties for the use of the Media. I release the Organizer from any claims arising from the use of the Media, including any claims based on the right of publicity, right of privacy, or defamation, provided the Media is not used in a defamatory, misleading, or obscene manner.
I understand that: (a) the Organizer may take photographs and video throughout the Event; (b) I cannot guarantee that photographs or videos of me will not be taken; and (c) by attending the Event, I am consenting to the taking of photographs and videos.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of ______________, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
